The derogatory term trailer trash didn't exist fifty years ago. Mobile homes were accepted by the public as respectable residences for middle-income people. After the 1980s, things suddenly changed. Living in a trailer was looked upon as a demeaning lifestyle by some members of society. I have friends that lived in house trailers while growing up. Some of them will no longer admit to such.
Everyone has a story to tell. Unfortunately, some book publishers over the years have made it so only elitist celebrities get to share theirs. Their flamboyant pictures are splashed on the front of countless book and magazine covers as if these lives are the only ones that matter. I believe every person on this planet has something interesting to say, even trailer park refugees.
