After the loss of Race, her beloved Quarter Horse gelding, Susan, as well as her sweet mare, Baile, found comfort and healing from an unlikely therapist. He came to them in the extraordinary form of a tall, lanky, bright-eyed, dark chestnut thoroughbred named White's Bonus Time; he had more energy and personality than either of them knew what to do with. Through his endless play, extreme challenges, and kind and loving spirit, he mended their broken hearts and showed them that they could, indeed, love again. His name was providence...in this life, he is their Bonus Horse.

Susan has been blessed throughout her life with many wonderful horses, dogs and cats, and though every loss saddens her deeply, each new addition to her family brings unparalleled joy. She and her husband live in Idaho, where her journey continues. In addition to The Horses I've Loved and Our Bonus Horse, Susan is the creator of the Bonus and Baile Cartoon Series and The Buck and Gil Travelling Blog.
