The UNESCO's Atlas of World's Languages in Danger states that 40 percent of the world's 6700 languages are in danger of extinction. With approximately 76,000 speakers, Nweh could be one of those languages at risk. In a time when misconceptions about African peoples and languages continue to persist, and the danger of language extinction grows, education and preservation are essential.
