by John Mooers (Author)

Pillar of Stories is an eclectic collection of short stories with a wide range of appeal. It runs from the literary (A Cup of Tea) to horror (Room 210); travel (Turoe Stone) to humor (My Wife Named It). The different stories chronicle the various stages in life. There are stories of childhood awakening (The Secret, Bird Call) as well as the inevitable acceptance of death (Tree Songs). They are attempts to touch, to understand, what always seems just beyond our reach. Written over a lifetime and never before published the stories are told in different voice and written in different styles and each touch provides new and fresh insights into the human heart.

Author Biography

With a Masters Degree in Philosophy, John is a writer, owns an accounting firm, is married to an accomplished photographer and performing musician, has a best friend who is the daughter of a famous abstract painter, and also has an artistic photographer as a friend. He lives in and experiences multiple worlds. This gives him a unique blend of practical and artistic insight that carries over into his novels and stories. John is a highly eclectic writer. His short story collection Pillar of Stores ranges from the literary to horror to travel to comedy. His historical novels, like J.P., his novel of the banker J. P. Morgan, are fast paced and plot driven narratives. However his more literary novels, such as his four volume Fire in Winter, are very character driven, slower paced, and richly dense symbolic works. In his output there is something for everyone.
