He is writer of \u003ci\u003eUnderstanding Fandom\u003c\/i\u003e (Bloomsbury, 2013) and \u003ci\u003eCounting Down Elvis\u003c\/i\u003e (2018), editor of \u003ci\u003ePopular Music Fandom\u003c\/i\u003e (2015), \u003ci\u003eFan Identities and Practices in Context\u003c\/i\u003e (2018), and editor or co-editor of several special edition journals for \u003ci\u003ePopular Music and Society, Rock Music Studies\u003c\/i\u003e, and the \u003ci\u003eIASPM \u003c\/i\u003ejournal. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cb\u003eBeate Peter\u003c\/b\u003e is Senior Lecturer in German at Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. As a member of the Research Centre for Applied Social Sciences at MMU, she is currently leading a team of researchers that investigate the role that music (acid house) played in shaping the social, political, and cultural landscape in Britain. She is also a convener of Manchester's Music and Sonic Studies research network.
