In PRESS ON The Story of the 1991 State Champion Hardin-Jefferson "High Flying Hawks, '" author Dr. Charles Breithaupt describes the journey of a team as it built a system of success. Not only did this team succeed on the court, ultimately winning a Texas high school state championship, they have succeeded in life. Utilizing lifelong lessons learned from hard work and building team chemistry, this team has achieved far more than the glitter of a gold trophy. Told from a unique perspective by the coach of this team, PRESS ON is not just a story about a team, but an account of a life-altering year in the lives of young men on their way to adulthood. Dr. Charles Breithaupt currently serves as Executive Director of the University Interscholastic League and Associate Vice- President, University of Texas at Austin. A graduate of Buna High School, he completed his undergraduate work and earned his Master's degree from Lamar University. He later completed his doctorate at UT-Austin. Dr. Breithaupt has received numerous accolades as a coach- including induction into the both the Texas High School Basketball and Football Hall of Fame as well as the Texas High School Coaches Hall of Honor. He and his wife Debbie currently reside in Georgetown, Texas.
