Author Biography

George Horton was born in Fairville, New York on October 11, 1859 and died in 1942. Horton was US Consul General in Greece and the Ottoman Empire from 1883 to 1924. He witnessed the Great Fire in Smyrna in 1922 and he wrote the renowned book, The Blight of Asia. Horton was a member of AHEPA. He was the author of about 20 books including the best seller Like Another Helen.
