Their stories are a few of the 3,000 stories (not including the 2,000 adult-age people who lost a parent that day and the countless others who have gone on to lose a parent due to 9/11 illnesses) that need to be told. Lynch interviews surviving children along with mental health experts to gain perspective on resilience.
Payton shares the challenges she faces as she and her husband battle infertility and loss. She examines the intersection of trauma and triumph that resulted from the events of 9/11, and how others can move past their own grief. Importantly this book inspires us to rise from the ashes of our own trauma.
