by Mark E. Francis (Author)
"Running Under the Ice" presents together with their Chinese originals translations of fifty poems by the classic Tang writer, Du Mu (803-852). These translations strive for closeness to the Chinese in meaning and technique, within a contemporary English idiom. The selection highlights the variety, concreteness and complexity of Du Mu's verse.
