Spend a day with Samantha, a fun-loving girl who loves to read and play, and who also happens to wear a contact lens and a patch This book follows Samantha through the day as her mommy inserts the contact lens, Samantha chooses which super-awesome patch to wear (coordinating with her clothes of course ) and wears cool sunglasses while playing with her friends outside. Samantha also visits the eye doctor and shows off the glasses that she wears when she occasionally can't wear her contact lens. Later in the day, Samantha's mommy removes the contact lens and Samantha gets a big hug. This fun book will help your child to see that the contact lens is just one part of an otherwise busy life, and that contact lens insertion and removal is not so bad This title is also available in Spanish, French and Italian.

Author Biography

Juliette Vignola is the mom of Samantha, a wonderfully sweet, intelligent and incredible little girl who "just happens" to wear a contact lens and patch! Juliette considers herself to be an "accidental" author, writing to fill a void in the children's literature for our aphakic kids. Juliette has also written three other books: "Jack Wears Contact Lenses and Glasses... JUST LIKE YOU!" is the story of Jack, a bilateral aphakic child. "Jack Wears Glasses and a Patch... JUST LIKE YOU!" is a customized version of the previous book, for bilateral aphakics who do not wear contact lenses. "Everyone's Different... JUST LIKE YOU! The tale of Mango Sheep" is a heart-warming story about a sheep who just doesn't fit in with her flock. This book helps children to see that they do not have to be just like everyone else, everyone is different and that is OK!
