Before reading Self-Esteem Your Superpower: Ways Parents Can Improve Children's Self-Esteem by Stephanie Wilson-Coleman, Ph.D., I felt I did'nt have the knowledge or capacity to help my nieces and nephews become more confident.
The author proved me wrong. The techniques are easy to use, and I was excited to start doing this very important work when my nephew was feeling down and thought that he was not good enough.
I never knew how playing a simple game of Hide and Seek or going on a scavenger hunt would help my nephew find his creativity and open up about bothering him. Our Hide and Seek game is much more creative than what I played growing up. But it is so much fun.
I now agree that everything in life goes better with high self-esteem, and boosting a child's self-esteem can be "fun."
As a parent, aunt, sibling, or family friend, you have a tremendous influence on a child's self-esteem.
