An ode to nature that will captivate readers of The Wild Girl. On a cold September night in 1986, a harrowing scream pierces the silence of darkness. With the first drops of rain, a corpse awaits being found next to an old cabin on the outskirts of Zarzaleda, a small town in the Sierra of Madrid. The town is shocked to discover that among the rocks and shrubs lies Manuel Villaseñor's body, the most promising young man in town. With her aloof attitude and her fondness for getting lost in the endless mountain trails, Camino knows that she will be the prime suspect. They don't see her in a favorable light. Within the shadows of those forests she knows so well, she will begin to investigate on her own to find the real killer. She knows Manuel wasn't the perfect guy that everyone believed him to be, but nobody wants to see or hear the truth... If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around, does it make a sound? If someone commits a crime and no one speaks, are they truly guilty?
