Author Biography

Ryhia Dank is a Gudanji/Wakajal artist who grew up in a remote community in the Northern Territory and now lives in modern Australia. Her painting is storywork; Gudanji/Wakaja people tell stories through pattern and design. She calls her storying Nardurna, which means 'woman', and refers to her link with the Gudanji story about how three women came from the ocean near Ngukurr in the Gulf of Carpentaria to create their place, the hills and fresh water Country.
