After 18 years without a single assignment, an Asian-based CIA team is about to face the challenge of a lifetime. They must find a golden junk hidden somewhere in Southeast Asia before it's discovered by the KGB, or two meddling journalists. The team's alias-loving chief-- known as Fer-de-lance to his friends, and James Bonde to his enemies-- is joined by two operatives disguised as the American Traveling Folk-Rock band, as they vie against Boris and Natalya and their KGB operatives (who are disguised as a flying Manchurian acrobatics team).
The resulting adventures in the Mekong River, across the Laotian mudflats, and through the jungles of Northern Thailand, are an hysterically funny parody on the world of international spies.
