Andrew Lang (1844-1912) was a Scottish scholar and author best known for his classic translations and fairy tales. Lang was formally educated at the University of St. Andrews as well as Balliol College, Oxford. After becoming a fellow at Merton College, he released a series of acclaimed articles through various publications. He also contributed poetry and a vast collection of popular fairy tales. Some of his most notable works include The Gold of Fairnilee (1888), Prince Prigio (1889) and The Blue Fairy Book (1889).
