Sabine Baring-Gould (1834-1924) was a famous English antiquarian and folklorist, and this is his treatise on werewolves and lycanthropy. It was the first comprehensive study on the subject, and provides accounts of shape-shifting creatures from many different cultures, including material on viking berserkers.
