by John G. Ramsey (Author)
This book examines the question of what is the Church. It looks at previous answers to this question and then proposes another answer drawn from the Scriptures and early Christian writers. The answer is based on relationships that are formed through the various sacraments of the Church. These relationships help us to see the reason for the classical relationship structures that we see within the Christian Church from relationships of and with the leadership through to relationships within the family. It places Christ in the centre of each relationship, not merely in a symbolic manner, but in a real presence within the relationship, so that each relationship contributes towards our salvation and unity with God through Christ in the Holy Spirit.
