Barbara Downie was born and raised in Jamaica, West Indies. Although she was born and left in a poor environment by her mother; eventually she was taken by her father to live with him and his new bride. Her living status had improved, but when it came to her self-esteem, she was still dirt poor. It was in fighting the attacks on her life that caused her to blossom into a confident and bold individual. Not for the sake of others but for the love of the God she knew and came to know even better. In The Cure Is In The Living, you will walk with Barbara as she lives her life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, career woman, minister, and friend.
