This book is based on the life and health of my husband, Melvin, a retired army soldier, and the struggle he has been facing after receiving a flu vaccine and the hard time I have endured during my husband's illness.
Five years ago, my husband became physically ill after receiving a shot. If someone would have told me that our world was going to come tumbling down, I would have said that's not true. And then it happened. Everything started to fall apart. I just could not believe what was before my eyes. This bad vaccine took over my husband's life and my life, and because he was so sick, I took on the responsibility of being my husband's caregiver. I had no idea my job would be so difficult and painful. I started to feel as if we were being punished, but in my heart, I know that was not true because God does not put more on us than we can bear. But later I had to learn how to be a nurse overnight in order to take care of my husband, and because I love him so dearly, I had no problem taking on this task.
