A little girl plagued with intuition and premonition is raised by her grandparents in post war Germany. Her grandparents are survivors of two world wars and accepted the challenge of caring for their sometimes difficult grandchild with their usual pragmatism. Grandmother, a healer herself is passing her knowledge of natural healing as well as her gift of intuition on to Angelika who is considered willful and imaginative. With the aid of a wise woman who lives next door and shares her grandmother's love and knowledge of healing herbs and plants, Angelika blossoms into a gifted and mindful woman. Ancient as well as modern plague touches her life and that of all who share her journey. Throughout the ages plague has never mutated. It remains alive but hidden within the deep crevices of our lives and times. It makes no difference whether it is our bodies or our souls that show the tell-tale signs of disease. Ultimately as a people we can only survive if we arm ourselves with understanding, compassion and foremost, love.
Author Biography
Monika Arenth was born in Germany. After completing nursing training, she moved with her American husband to Pittsburgh. There they raised three children and she practiced nursing for 35 years. After retirement she moved to a small village in rural Pennsylvania, where she lives with her husband and two cats.
