I am a twin of 14 kids .Education was big in our family .My dad could only go to 6th grade in the South. My dad said \" a privilege denied must be valuable. So after graduating, I went to college in Thibodaux, Louisiana. I majored in Education. During my student teaching, I hit a brick wall of prejudice. The supervising teacher felt blacks were inferior. Discouraged, I dropped out of college, wondering, \"Why did people feel this way?\" As I worked in Portland, a principal always encouraged me daily saying \"Go back to college, we need good teachers.\" Soon I went back to college. I also accepted Christ as Savior and Lord. Then I understood. The enemy worked to discourage me. But God is gracious.
