Life happened. I had a marriage of almost twenty years, two wonderful sons, a successful but unfulfilling career in corporate America, and a divorce. I needed a change. Who would have thought that a New Year's resolution to "Live somewhere else and do something different" would have been so life changing? I sold everything, took a one-year sabbatical, and moved to Italy. I planned to accomplish two bucket-list items: (1) live in another country and (2) learn another language.
With a couple of suitcases of clothes and personal items, I set out on my year's adventure. I found a new freedom, new adventures every day, how real happiness feels, that love is always a possibility, and how the rest of my life might look. I learned to dream again, I learned to love again, and I learned where my place in the world was plus so much more. This is the story of my soul reawakening, my personal renaissance in Florence, Italy, and living the life that I imagined.
