This book deals with history and genealogy of some ancestors of the Manden, a large family of ethnic groups in West Africa speaking one of the many variations of the Manden language. The Mandinka, a branch of the Manden, are credited with the foundation of the largest ancient West African empires. As in the universal history, the African woman played a vital role in the life of kingdoms and empires. According to the Mandinka's belief, the destiny of a man is drawn by God. Hands that achieve this destiny are very often those of women. This was the case of these three famous sons of Manden: Soundiata Keita, Almamy Samory Touré and Abdourahmane Kaba.
