Author Biography

Joe Franklin (1926 - 2015) was an American radio and television host personality from New York City. His show began in 1950 on WJZ-TV (later WABC-TV) and moved to WOR-TV (later WWOR-TV) from 1962 to 1993. He was called "The King of Nostalgia" and "The Wizard of Was" for focusing on old-time show-business personalities. Franklin was listed in the Guinness World Records as the longest running continuous on-air TV talk show host, more than a decade longer than Johnny Carson's run Scott Cardinal walked away from a potentially mind-numbing career as a contract attorney in order to pursue a career as an Investigative and Architectural Historian. He is the recipient of numerous journalism awards and was the Producer & Director of the award-winning documentary THE LEGEND OF IVAN TORS. He is the ideator of "The Cardinals," a creative collective that publishes educational books. He is also known as the principal singer and songwriter of the band "Captain Cardinal & The Bluebirds."
