He has been Dean of the Faculty of Science at The University of Ottawa (1992-1997), President of the International Permafrost Association (1998-2003) and Editor-in-Chief of \u003ci\u003ePermafrost and Periglacial Processes\u003c\/i\u003e (1990-2005).
