The Turkish Tales of Nasrettin Hoca Since the 13th century, Nasrettin Hoca's clever witticisms have been passed down from one generation to the next. He has come to represent the humorous side of Turkish culture. The artwork in this book was originally hand-painted by Zeki Findikoglu in 1988. In 2008-2009 the artist himself digitally enhanced and manipulated the original paintings for this book.This book is written on Turkish and English languages.
Author Biography
ZEKI FINDIKOGLU is from the village of Boyalica, Iznik in Turkey. During his early years he lived in almost every region of Anatolia and learned about regional Turkish culture and early Anatolian civilizations. In 1970, he graduated from the Fine Arts Academy of Istanbul earning an M.F.A. in painting and printmaking. In 1973, he moved to USA, attended George Washington University, and earned an M.F.A in design and visual communications. Since 1979, he has been a professor and department chairman at the University of the District of Columbia, Trinity University and Montgomery College. As a professional artist he has exhibited internationally. His current studio is in the Torpedo Factory Art center in Alexandria, VA. Presently, he splits his time between his two residences in Istanbul and Washington, DC.
