Zhenia Gilday has successfully competed in Collegiate Ballroom Dance in the United States since 2012. During this time, she (and her partners) has accumulated buckets of awards and scholarships. Zhenia began ballroom dancing when she was 10 years old in her hometown of Skadovsk, Ukraine. After only a year of training, she performed on stage with the Caravel Ballroom Club. Zhenia, and her group mates performed at various concerts and talent shows including the famous Black Sea Games. She successfully competed at numerous regional and national competitions in the Junior category. In 2012, Zhenia re-discovered Ballroom Dance at Rhode Island College, where she was taking classes. In just 2 years, she moved through the Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, to the Open level. A feat that is impressive by any standards.
