In the story's opening pages, you meet a vibrant, charming, and accomplished couple with a precocious son, living a charming life in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. A terrifying twist of fate and the boy is living with his beautiful Aunt Angelina. She is forced to make a life changing decision with her fiancé over the fate of the boy. Angelina trades the chaotic life of big city New York for the comforting confines of a rural community to raise the boy. The boy, named Samuel, excels in school both academically and athletically. In high he learns that in life, there is much suffering and despair in the world and decides he wants to help alleviate it and improve the life of others. To accomplish this, he must become very successful. As salutatorian of his graduating class, he gives a gripping and emotional speech to his fellow graduates on how they are about to pass through the Golden Portal of life into manhood and responsibility. His speech follows him into college where he meets and falls in love a beautiful and enchanting female student and makes friends with three enterprising fellow students. Together they develop a phenomenal new hi-tech product which becomes their springboard into the wonderous world of high finance and big business. At the very pinnacle of success, tragedy in the form of terrorism, once again, strikes Samuel and the world around him, bringing new priorities to living one's life.
