Nurses, being the health professionals who are closest to the informal caregivers, are often the first resource when difficulties or needs arise in the care process. In this line of thought, the teaching and health education to informal caregivers, patients, and families by these professionals during home visits are of great importance, as well as the constant reassessment of the acquisition of these skills by the informal caregiver, empowering him/her to provide care and empower the patient/family in case he/she is autonomous.
