Heather Dune Macadam se posicionó como autora best seller en 2015 con su primer libro Rena's Promise: A story of Sisters in Auschwitz y fue nominada para el National Book Award, el Christopher Award, el American Jewish Book Award y el National Library Association Award. Es directora y presidenta de la Rena's Promise Foundation. Su trabajo ha sido reconocido por la USC Shoah Foundation, el Museo Nacional de Historia Judía en Bratislavia, Eslovaquia, y el Museo Panstowe de Auschwitz en Oswiecim, Polonia. Su trabajo también ha visto la luz en medios como National Geographic y PBS, entre otros.
