Barry Sheinkopf has been writing poetry since he was fourteen, when he won the New York City Barton's Bonbonniere Passover Poetry Contest. The prize was a five-pound box of chocolate, and he had a bad case of acne. It was, he says, the acme of his career. He has read in scores of venues ever since.
