This book is about capturing opportunities before they slip through our fingers. It places a flashlight in our hands to help guide us through the noise-filled darkness of media hype, outdated myths, and a medical system designed for purposes other than our proactive health and longevity. Life's distractions are daunting and unrelenting, but as knowledge sometimes does, it helps separate the chaff from the wheat.
At the core, our life stories are about connections with our phys- ical, biological, emotional, and cognitive selves and, most certainly, connections with others and our life experiences. We'll explore what goes into supporting those connections, including the signaling be- tween our cells, and even with themselves. If human longevity could be distilled down to just one simple thing, it would be preserving our connections.
