Author Biography

Nadine Galinsky Feldman gave up city life a few years ago and moved to a small slice of paradise on the Olympic Peninsula. When she's not working in her garden, traveling, or researching family history, she writes books. She wrote and published When a Grandchild Dies: What to Do, What to Say, How to Cope, after having both a miscarriage and stillbirth. Recognizing that few resources existed for grieving grandparents, she wrote When a Grandchild Dies. She published her debut novel, The Foreign Language of Friends, in 2011. FLOF was a finalist in the 2012 Next Generation Indie Book Awards and a Gold Medal winner in the 2011 eLit Book Awards. She also edited Patchwork & Ornament: A Woman's Journey of Life, Love, and Art by Jeanette Feldman. Patchwork was a finalist in the 2009 Writers' League of Texas Manuscript Contest (under the title Pentimento) and a 2010 Indie Excellence Award winner for best memoir. Currently, Nadine working on a novel about a Manhattan financial planner who unwittingly gets caught up in the Madoff scandal. She is also working on a collection of essays about gardening and life.
