"What am I going to be when I grow up?" That's a difficult question for a little person. Armed with limited experience and an ever-changing bunch of likes and dislikes, it's tough to know which job you'd like to do so many years down the line.
Of course, adults often want to influence their kids, frequently trying to steer them down a prestigious career path they think is for the best. So, we get a slew of youngsters who say they want to be doctors, lawyers, accountants, bankers, or technology gurus. Or they settle for doing the same job as their parents or relatives.
For some, that's the right decision. But for others, especially those who may have an artistic or creative bent, it could be the pathway to an unfulfilled life.
When I Grow Up approaches the issue of career choices from a child's perspective. What are their talents, hopes, and dreams? And do any of them tally with what a significant adult believes is the right path to follow?
