Author Biography

Hal Draper began his career in the Young People's Socialist League in the 30s. During World War II and the Cold War he was the editor of Labor Action and a member of the editorial board of The New International, both publications of the "Third Camp" Independent Socialist League. In the 60s he championed the Free Speech Movement at the University of California, Berkeley and was the author Of Berkeley: The New Student Revolt, an account of that movement.
