Shortly after Snake arrives in the American colonies to return Sky home, he is confronted by the world's most notorious pirate captain. Snake and Sky, along with their new colonist friends, find themselves at the mercy of the infamous pirate captain just as the man's ship is being attacked at the Ocracoke Inlet. Meanwhile, back home in Kirkston, Jeremiah White has been captured by King Harold's men. With Jeremiah absent, Helena must pull her crew together to save her dastardly husband before the crew mutinies against her. While Snake is battling infamous pirate captains and the Black Dragons are distracted with their own difficulties at home, John Stevenson is ready to launch his attack on Caldara. The war is beginning, and foes must come together to save the Caldara line before Kirkston becomes a dictator state under Stevenson's rein.

S. C. Lauren began creating the Pirate Series in elementary school. Since then she has obtained a bachelor's degree in English from Gordon State College and has become a full-time ghostwriter and editor. Lauren lives in the small town of Senoia, Georgia, with her husband, TJ, and son, Oliver.
