This is the Zip---Line Mice Companion Coloring Book. It was so much fun creating and coloring the illustrations for Zip---Line Mice that I created the Companion Coloring book so children could color while the book is read out loud to them.
Author Biography
K. L. Allen-Taylor born the youngest of 6 children to Alfred. A. Allen and Rebecca Ross-Allen in 1953. Her next oldest sister, Candy was a brittle Diabetic with complications and at the age of 25 lost her vision. Kathryn loved to take her sister window shopping. Candie always enjoyed having Kathryn descript everything to her in the windows and displays. Then before she passed at the age of 26 told her how thankful she was to have her there to describe and make magical pictures in her mind. In school, they told her she couldn't be an artist because "They don't make any money", and being extremely dyslexic, she didn't know what she would do for a living. Art and working with her hands were her natural gifts. When a friend saw her art work from school one day they told her she would make a great Dental Technician. To that she asked, "What is a dental Technician?" So, she went to work training on the bench. When her sister died in 1978 she relocated to Washington State where she met her husband Kevin. They had 2 girls and in 1986 won the Good House Keeping Magazine Gingerbread House Contest and won the $10,000.00 with which they started their won dental lab. Kevin, also being an artist was immediately train on the bench. After 40 years as a dental tech, 30 of those year as the Dental lab owner. Now at 64, she is ready to write down all the stories she's outlined and saved for a time to concentrate on them to get published. Zip Line Mice is the first in a four-part seasonal series. While it was still in script, Kevin read it and said, "I think it needs illustrations." So, Kathryn did 60 to go with the story. They were so much fun to create and color she made a Companion Coloring and Mouse Paper Dolls cutout book to go with. Sculpting in wax is a skill she became proficient in making teeth and makes jewelry charms of the little mice characters that Zip on a silver serpentine smooth neck chain.
